Taxpayers on the hook for $500m to clean up Chevron oil field and that is just the start

Chevron and its partners ExxonMobil and Santos have shipped 335 million barrels of oil and paid about $1 billion in royalties to the Federal and WA governments. The governments will soon have to pay half of it back.
